At Torrens Family Chiropractic we pride ourselves on having developed quite possibly the most unique chiropractic and personal training center anywhere. As life is a process and follows certain rhythms, our programs are designed to engage those processes and foster those rhythms. We train in four core Processes: the Adjustment Process, the Fitness Process, the Body Chemistry Process and the Head & Heart Process. Each Process can be considered and utilized as an individual module or together as a comprehensive holistic model for health restoration and maintenance. The key is that our patients realize they have options. One person may choose to simply support their lifestyle with our advanced chiropractic adjustments while another may have come to the point where they need to make several changes as their life and health condition demands major focus. In any case it’s always your case, your individual needs and supporting you through what’s already a stressful enough life. Once we have completed your initial history and examination, together we will have the information necessary to determine if, first of all, TFC is the right place for you, and if it is, which options you find most appealing and cost effective. The Adjustment Process – Our first and most important tool in restoring and maintaining the nerve system is the spinal adjustment. We pride ourselves on delivering the most technologically advanced, superior quality adjustments based on systematic analysis and by utilizing traditional hands-on technique blended with the precision of the computer controlled Impulse IQ instrument. We have found this to be the fastest, safest, most cost-effective way to reduce stress on the spinal cord and nerves. If you’ve been adjusted before you’ll be impressed with the comfort and ease of our adjustment process. You’ll also note the detail we give to your muscles, utilizing muscle release techniques from various massage disciplines. In some cases we use cushioned blocks and foam rolls to position the spine and gently traction the body back to a state of balance. If there’s a trick to the trade, we probably have it in our tool box.
The Fitness Process – Our fitness training is based in ancient yoga principles and movements and is blended with the latest in neurologic rehab technique. We follow a path that develops flexibility leading to coordination and then strength. Thus, you will be opening the body’s channels to improve energy flow and circulation while rebalancing the nerve system’s sensory and motor pathways. You will learn to pace your breathing for optimum energy charge to your muscles and metabolism for your whole body. You won’t be faced with a bunch of fancy incomprehensible therapy equipment that has no connection to your real life. Really good spinal exercise is about commitment not equipment. You’ll get instruction that you can practice anywhere, any time.
The Body Chemistry Process – From the ancient foundations of medicine and caring for the human family it has been prescribed to let our food be our medicine. This has two really important implications: one, everything we need from a chemistry standpoint already exists in nature; and two, our sicknesses have more to do with our lifestyle than any other factor. We seek to bring you the simplest most powerful solutions to fulfill the natural prescription. We teach foundational nutrition to provide a baseline of essential nutrient elements to make the body run clean and lean. Many people today know about vitamins and herbs, but getting nutrients to the core (or even appropriate medicines) is a difficult task given the common accumulation of inter and intracellular ‘sludge’. We need powerful agents to get through, to turn on cells, have the cells utilize nutrients, and then very importantly release their metabolites (waste products). This dynamic process is most beneficially aided by some rare superfoods, some common supplements, and an attention to proper food combining during meals. We focus on doing what’s right for the body regardless of its stage of health expression. If you do what’s right enough long enough seeking balance, you tend to get right and stay right.
The Head & Heart Process – As demanding as the other three core processes are, they are mostly about the physicality of healthy living. To fully realize health we must heed our thoughts and emotions. They are like the rudder of a ship. If we don’t control the rudder, the ship will tend to float aimlessly through the sea, only getting to port by random luck. The ancient philosopher Socrates said, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” In each personal journey an appreciation of ‘who I am’ and ‘what I am about’ is a powerful force for guiding one’s actions and realizing one’s visions and ideals. Our focus in the Head & Heart Process moves you from just doing something because a doctor says so, to deciding for yourself what’s best for you and how to go about getting it. Some may not journey further than distinguishing our natural alternative from traditional western medicine approaches and how to use the two together most beneficially. Others may engage in a regular attendance at our multiple monthly workshops covering philosophy, stress management, nutrition, or specific health topics. A select few attend our Choice Mastery Workshop seminar and receive life coaching to experience profound clarity and accountability while creating the life of their dreams.
